EXPECTED SCHEDULE:
  • Consistent three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Day shift: 6 AM - 6 PM
COMPENSATION:
  • Salary range: $17 - $22, depending on experience
  • Shift differential and weekend differential available
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patient restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Preparation for procedures (e.g., central lines, sampling lines, NG tubes, urethral unblocking)
  • Supply stocking (e.g., catheters, scrubs, alcohol, syringes, pee pads, fluids)
  • Assisting with radiographic imaging
  • Setting up and dismantling patient beds for hospitalized animals
  • Preparing flushes
  • Handling laundry duties
  • Maintaining cleanliness (sweeping, mopping, washing dishes)
  • Walking dogs
  • Changing bedding and cleaning cages
  • General hospital cleaning tasks (e.g., lawn maintenance, trash disposal, refilling supplies)
  • Facilitating patient visits for stable, uncomplicated cases
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of 1 year of animal handling experience.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to successfully perform the primary functions of this role. While executing these duties, employees may frequently bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen. Long periods of standing or walking may be necessary, and employees will use their hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. Lifting and carrying animals weighing fifty pounds or more is often required, as well as handling dogs weighing up to 150 pounds.
