Electrical Engineer Role Overview

Responsibilities
  • Supervise electrical design projects for oil and gas facilities.
  • Design, review, and oversee electrical design work performed by junior engineers and designers.
  • Responsible for creating one-line diagrams, hazardous area classification drawings, panel schedules, cable schedules, and grounding design.
  • Develop power systems models, including arc flash studies and load flow studies.
  • Work independently to complete tasks within given timeframes and budgets.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 years of proven electrical engineering design experience in oil and gas.
  • Experience in heavy industrial projects, including oil and gas, mining, power generation, water, and wastewater.
  • Creation and review of electrical design, construction, and commissioning documents.
  • A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • PE license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of design codes and standards, specifically NFPA, NEC, NESC, API, ISA, and AGA.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
  • Familiarity with electrical modeling software, specifically ETAP and SKM.
