Job Summary

Oversee and guide staff members in creating, verifying, and distributing electrical and avionics engineering work products, including drawings, electronic models, technical reports, product specifications, test reports, and manufacturing specifications. Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and other teams to ensure production and delivery of designed products. Work closely with government regulators, auditors, and personnel on military programs. Serve as a key leader of the engineering team, skilled in creating and administering work plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop new electrical and avionics design concepts and analyze them for communication to customers and other functional organizations.
  2. Provide technical support to project engineers and customer experience managers regarding project deliverables, schedule adherence, and overall project status.
  3. Design electrical power supply requirements at a system level to support STCs and Field Approvals designed by Air Methods.
  4. Modify existing off-the-shelf products to meet company needs and document modifications.
  5. Support design modifications, Engineering Change Orders, general analysis, hardware testing, and prototype development.
  6. Develop Project Logistics Plans and support design reviews and meetings as required.
  7. Prepare supplemental design information related to products, including cost estimates, safety assessments, failure modes and effects analyses, electrical load analysis, test plans/reports, maintenance instructions, installation instructions, flight manual supplements, and wiring interface schematics.
  8. Support certification activities by assisting with preparation and coordination of documents and technical issues related to the certification of ODA and/or FAA STC projects and FAA Field Approvals.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university, and 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience directly related to aircraft electrical/avionics systems is preferred. Understanding of FAA certification processes, aircraft operations, and electrical/communication and navigation systems is required. Ability to interpret and use aircraft manufacturers' maintenance manuals, equipment installation instructions, and wiring diagrams is essential.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels. Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Prior technical knowledge, training, and experience in AutoCAD are strongly preferred.

Pay Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 per year.
