Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team at Ocean House Collections, a luxury resort and member of Relais & Châteaux. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring that every drink is crafted with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Greet guests warmly and provide a pleasant and comfortable experience.
  • Drink Preparation: Maintain a current knowledge of bar inventory and mixed drink recipes, and prepare drinks in accordance with proper mixed ratios.
  • Wine Knowledge: Have a good understanding of wine pairings and be able to engage guests in conversation about wine.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the director of restaurants, lead bartender, wine director, restaurant manager, banquet captain, servers, and host/hostess as appropriate to ensure the guest experience is as enjoyable and effortless as possible.
  • Bar Maintenance: Keep bar surfaces and all prep areas clean, organized, and in a presentable state.
  • Cash Handling: Maintain proper cash handling and inventory control procedures.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain room number and credit card information control and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 to 5 years of work experience in the luxury hospitality industry, preferably in a five-star environment.
  • Skill: Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities, ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks and projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication: Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse operation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and continuously perform essential job functions, hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations.
Working Conditions

The property operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands.
