Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of state-of-the-art instrumentation and control systems at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing system-level requirements, designing and fabricating analog, digital, and power systems, and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize system-level to circuit-level requirements and features
  • Design, fabricate, and operate analog, digital, and power systems
  • Develop FPGA and microcontroller firmware
  • Mentor students, technicians, and junior engineers
  • Daily operation and maintenance of control and monitoring systems
  • Develop design documentation and procedures for systems developed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of scientists, engineers, and technical staff
  • Ability and willingness to work in a regulated engineering environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with National Instrument LabVIEW software environment
  • Electronic design environments (Autodesk Eagle preferred)
  • Knowledge of noise reduction schemes in electronics design
  • Experience with digital I/O, analog data acquisition, and signal conditioning techniques
