Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Urology team at Shore Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in their daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with patient exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
  • Prepare patient charts and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, requesting medical information, and photocopying.
  • Assist with obtaining authorizations and referrals as needed.
  • Take vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and temperature, and document patient information accurately.
  • Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and specimen collection, as well as assist with basic routine tests, injections, and procedures.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and notify management of any issues or concerns.
  • Operate equipment safely and competently, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Enter patient data into our electronic medical record system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Answer patient phone calls, screen messages, and communicate information accurately and promptly.
  • Restock and prepare exam rooms for the next day, adhering to established par levels and protocols.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of back office experience or successful completion of a formal medical assistant training program required.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Travel to other SRH locations may be required.
