Job Summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and improving quality improvement initiatives, including the Physician Billing computer system and patient satisfaction survey.
  • Maintain a high level of competence on the Physician Billing computer system.
  • Utilize the computer system to schedule appointments and track referrals.
  • Open and close the office as required.
  • Assist in capturing patient demographic information.
  • Take an active role in facilitating a team approach to functions within the department, attending departmental meetings, and participating in problem-solving.
  • Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient medical records prior to appointments.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by escorting them to exam rooms.
  • Perform vital signs, update medication lists, and update allergies in patient records.
  • Provide other patient care services as needed, including injections, immunizations, and phlebotomy.
  • Dispose of bio-hazardous waste and maintain supplies.
  • Communicate and coordinate with providers and care coordinators regarding hospital discharges, ED visits, and patient communications.
  • Follow up with patients to ensure compliance with recommendations and medications.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant: High school degree or equivalent required; graduates of accredited Medical Assistant programs are strongly preferred.
  • LPN: Current state licensure required.
  • Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
