Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our properties, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment, inspect and maintain tools in excellent condition, and ensure storage areas remain locked when not in use.
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, involving electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, water irrigation systems, and other essential systems.
  • Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services, assist make-ready staff as required to meet deadlines, and report all major repairs and need requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Change locks, rekey locks, and make keys, and remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager, Service Director, Regional Manager, or other company official as needed.
Requirements
  • High level of proficiency in written, verbal, and arithmetic skills, with the ability to plan and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other essential information required for daily operations.
  • Current certifications in EPA, CPO, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in property management, with a High School Diploma required and College preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, except when working on items outside of the office environment.
