Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our properties and providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, involving electrical and plumbing, water irrigation systems, tile, carpet, and flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, boiler, gas and electric, pool areas, tile, hot tub/spa, pool furniture
  • Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services
  • Report all major repairs and need requisitions to Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant
  • Assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. information as required by daily operation
  • Ability to carry moderate items such as papers, boxes, event items, collateral, books, small parts
  • Ability to climb and be comfortable on roofing, operate heavy machinery, and withstand extreme outdoor temperatures
  • Own hand tools and some equipment as dictated by needs of property and Service Director
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and method of contact by phone 24 hours per day/7 days a week as duty requires
Work Environment

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, except when working on items outside of the office environment.
