Job Title: Operations Supervisor - Routing Optimization Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at Breakthru Beverage Group. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the activities associated with delivery operations. Your primary focus will be on optimizing routes to ensure efficient and effective delivery of products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the activities of delivery drivers and distribution staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of products.
- Develop and implement optimized routes to minimize delivery time and maximize productivity.
- Monitor and evaluate actual versus predicted routing to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the routing team to develop and implement new routing strategies.
- Communicate proactively with drivers and distribution staff to ensure adherence to daily distribution schedules and performance goals.
- Assist in the direction of delivery supervisors in the field, pairing them with drivers as needed.
- Review distribution productivity reporting to identify areas for improvement and suggest efficiency ideas.
- Effectively manage the delivery operations team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
- Monitor delivery fleet using MobileCast, Roadnet, and other delivery/routing software.
- Recommend performance management actions, including selection and hiring, transferring, and discharging, assignment of work, or progressive discipline.
- Review driver's attendance records, sick days, vacation, etc.
- Interpret, train, and consistently apply company policies, protocols, and procedures, including DOT, record keeping, performance expectations, and safe work methods.
- Contribute to DOT compliance, which may include DOT safety requirements and DOT drug screening.
- Oversee or assist in the function of timely and accurate verification and processing of daily delivery driver invoices, associated paperwork, returns, and collections.
- Interface with customers to solve discrepancies, problems, and create a cohesive relationship.
- Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship and communicate with the sales, warehouse, delivery, and customer service departments to resolve all customer or distribution opportunities.
- Supervise the proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of the distribution department.
- Coordinate required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related area.
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs, including presentation software.
- Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion, as well as customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Analytic and reporting skills.
- Utilize sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, team environment.
- Strong understanding of DOT and state regulations pertaining to transportation, including laws and regulations pertaining to vehicle safety, driver hours, safety, and other relevant areas.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain in a stationary position at times; communicate and operate a computer and telephone.
- Occasional carrying, overhead reaching, and lifting of 15 pounds to perform various duties.
- Occasional immediate reaching to perform various office duties.
- Occasional standing for short amounts of time to perform various duties.
- Occasional walking for short amounts of time to perform various duties.
- Extended sitting for long periods of time at a desk or workstation.
- Minimal squatting or bending to perform various duties.
- Occasional climbing stairs.
