Clinical Support Associate

Job Summary:
CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide warm and welcoming greetings to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Register and interview patients to obtain accurate demographic and financial information, while scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Return messages, schedule follow-up tests, referrals, and prior authorizations, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Assist patients, nurses, and providers in patient care, performing vital signs, and obtaining histories of chief complaints.
- Perform various Point of Care Testing and document results, ensuring quality control and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduation or GED required; successful completion of a nursing assistant, EMT, or medical assistant program of study.
- Certification/Licenses: BLS issued through American Heart Association required; certification as a medical assistant within one year of hire.
- Skills: Outstanding Service Excellence skills, knowledge and skills to obtain vital signs and PHI, strong organizational skills, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Experience: A minimum of one year medical experience with direct patient contact, preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Requires knowledge of general safety standards to limit exposure to infectious disease.
- Daily contact with infectious diseases and body fluids.
- Bloodborne pathogens: C
- Bending, stooping, and lifting up to 35 lbs, reaching above head and below knee level, utilization of proper body mechanics, long periods of sitting, keyboard usage with sound ergonomic principles.
