Job Title: Director of Technology and Communications

Chautauqua County Civil Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Technology and Communications. This position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the agency's information technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and administer a Wide Area Network (WAN) and related systems, including communication systems, digital video applications, and retrieval systems.
  • Maintain existing computer systems applications, installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware.
  • Respond to the needs of end users and provide system training and support for administrators, technical employees, and end users.
  • Administer database applications and supervise technical support employees or employees of lesser rank.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
  • Either a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a closely related computer field and two years of full-time paid experience in managing and providing technical support for the operation of a computer network, or an Associate's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a closely related computer field and four years of experience as listed above, or successful completion of 60 semester credit hours from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college, university, or technical school, or eight years of experience as listed above.
Special Requirements:

Per Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required.
