Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer II to join our team in Eden, North Carolina. As a key member of our cardiovascular services team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and vascular studies, utilizing your expertise in radiologic sciences technology to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound imaging, patient preparation, and post-procedure care for patients with cardiovascular disease.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained on a daily basis, troubleshooting and identifying any equipment problems and reporting to the appropriate supervisor or biomedical engineering.
  • Generate high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and/or vascular related structures, performing advanced cardiac ultrasound studies for patients with complex conditions.
  • Monitor and record patient information, maintaining report storage and data systems, and compiling and entering data necessary for charge entry and preparing reports.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for daily use, ensuring timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
  • One year minimum experience in an acute hospital setting.
