Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team at North Florida Retirement Village. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food using proper food preparation and handling techniques, as well as safety and sanitation rules and practices
  • Correctly prepare and assemble cold appetizers and salads following preparation sheets and provided recipes for dining room service and special functions
  • Perform advance preparation as indicated
  • Serve food items as needed
  • Complete food temperature checks for each meal
  • Taste all food items prepared
  • Complete preparation records and store food items properly at close of meal service
  • Communicate to director and/or assistant of any out of stock items
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment used in food preparation
  • Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices
  • Ensure that all cold food preparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures
  • Stocking of all items used in work procedure
  • Accurately set up workstation with all necessary items prior to the start of service
  • Ensure adherence to all state, county, and HRS standards in food preparation and sanitary regulations
  • Accurately prioritize multiple tasks
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Attend departmental education and all required in-service training/education
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information
  • Respond to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed
  • Represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude
  • Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests, and staff
  • Promptly and accurately report any resident problems, inquiries, requests, and/or concerns to supervisor
  • Provide a clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, self, and other staff
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior cooking experience in food service preferred
  • Must have high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and neatness
