Overview: The Financial Reporting Specialist is essential in aiding program teams and contributing to the preparation and assembly of clients' financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This role involves creating materials and documents that support, clarify, and inform client stakeholders, which is highly regarded and vital to our operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft position papers, analyze financial data, suggest populations and sample items for evaluation, and offer recommendations for enhancing processes and validation efforts—revise and maintain policies and procedures regarding financial reporting analyses.
  • Formulate and execute recommendations and solutions to tackle issues, inefficiencies, and challenges identified during evaluations, audits, and internal control assessments.
  • Deliver financial management and accounting support and counsel. Prepare narratives, white papers, position papers, and briefings.
  • Leverage accounting and financial management expertise to identify areas that may pose risks to the client.
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.
  • At least 1 year of experience in federal financial management supporting financial statement audit processes.
  • 1 year of familiarity with CGI Momentum financial, acquisition, and budget solutions.
  • Capability to conduct thorough research and analysis of technical and general ledger accounting and the preparation of federal financial statements and accompanying notes.
  • Ability to interpret financial accounting and management policies, regulations, and directives.
  • Skill in developing point papers, briefing materials, and graphical presentations, along with the capacity to deliver formal oral presentations to various levels of government personnel.
  • Proficiency in advising management on diverse financial and operational service options, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
  • A quick learner with a strong desire to acquire new skills and business functions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, including delivering presentations and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to occasionally work additional hours to meet deadlines.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
