Position: PCB Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Bloomington, MN

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available:

2nd Shift: 3pm - 11:30pm

3rd Shift: 11pm - 7:30am

Compensation: $19-21 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of printed circuit boards (PCBs) utilizing technical blueprints.
  • Employ plug gauges to assess drilled holes in PCB panels for compliance with specified dimensions.
  • Measure the thickness and dimensions of plating on PCB panels to ensure adherence to specifications, using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Examine PCB circuitry for defects, including shorts, breaks, and incorrect layouts, using various magnifying tools.
  • Apply solder mask ink to PCBs to rectify screen printing defects.
  • Remove excess plating or solder mask ink from PCBs using appropriate tools.
  • Repair damaged circuitry with soldering equipment.
  • Document the types and quantities of defective PCBs.
  • Test the adhesion of solder mask ink to PCBs using tape.
  • Verify the continuity of PCB circuits with a bare board tester.
  • May inspect inner layers of multilayer PCBs to confirm alignment and drilled hole specifications, potentially serving as an X-Ray Technician for Printed Circuit Boards.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience is necessary; however, 1 or more years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable with computer usage, typing, and navigating various systems for daily tasks.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
