Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer II to join our team at RBC Bearings. As a Quality Engineer II, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services, and for implementing quality control processes to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer complaints and product returns, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Support customer on-site audits and evaluations, and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Interpret customer contracts and specifications, and ensure that our products meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality control processes and improve product quality.
  • Develop and implement technical quality tasks, including MRRs, CARs, and MRB dispositions.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of formal quality tools, including process mapping, FMEA's, and control plans.
  • Define supplier quality requirements, and ensure alignment to customer and Sargent's requirements.
  • Lead and assist with Gage R&R studies, and define inspection methods and equipment.
  • Participate in the TIER II daily meeting, and report on COPQ, MRRs, and RMAs.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or four years quality assurance experience.
  • Familiarity with quality tool usage, including root cause analysis, measurement system analysis, and process reviews.
  • Proven knowledge of Quality Management System standards.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, including GD&T and other requirements.
  • Experience in ISO 9100/AS 9100 Quality System.
  • Exposure to quality metrics, statistical control analysis, and critical thinking methodologies.
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively, and use appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with applicable computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree.
  • ASQ-CQE or CQA certification.
  • Experience with DFARS.
  • AS 9100 internal Auditor Certification.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques, Lean and Six Sigma, and Green Belt training.
  • Material Review Board experience.
  • Previous experience as a customer delegated inspector.
Working Conditions

The ability to sit at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods. The ability to safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, and other, is also required. The ability to remain on a manufacturing shop floor, sometimes for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements, is necessary.
