Job Summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a skilled Factory Quality Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. This role will be responsible for ensuring product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, and quality management system requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationships with factory teams, leadership, and stakeholders to drive quality improvements.
  • Verify product and process compliance through regular data analysis and the development of actionable metrics.
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action investigations.
  • Ensure the identification, control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate material review boards as needed.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with technical data package requirements.
  • Develop and release first article inspections in accordance with AS9102.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five years of experience in related quality, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, bill of materials, consumable materials control, and manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection, or test.
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience utilizing root cause and corrective action tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance and ATF clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment that requires prioritization and flexibility to support competing requirements.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers.
  • Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis.
  • Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Motivated and self-starting team player who achieves results and continuously strives for improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and networking skills.
  • Six Sigma or ASQ Certification.
  • Data analysis; development and usage of actionable metrics.
  • High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word Visio).
