About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our Geomatics department in Denver, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and managing complex CAD designs, working closely with project managers and engineers to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiently operate AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create and edit CAD designs, including plans, profiles, alignments, and section views.
  • Assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
  • Process various forms of data, including XML files, point data, GIS data, shape files, and Landdesktop.
  • Create and manage design surfaces using feature lines, corridors, 3D polylines, point data, and other components.
  • Understand and operate plans that utilize CTB files and STB files.
  • Manage and edit sheet set managers for complex projects, coordinating with support staff.
  • Prepare medium to complex design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Perform design of portions of non-routine projects or entire routine projects under infrequent supervision.
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings and exhibits for reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and permits for projects.
  • Perform CAD drafting on a regular basis to reduce designs to final drawings.
  • Understand surveying terminology and other concepts related to civil engineering and construction practices.
  • Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
  • Ability to work with a medium level of supervision.
  • Assist in the development of probable cost estimates for projects within the department.
  • Design review and assistance in preparing bids.
  • Implementation of regulatory standards and permitting requirements.
  • Train other staff members on CAD standards, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience required in a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • This is not a remote position.
