Position Summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is in search of a dedicated and empathetic Outpatient Pediatrician specializing in Developmental and Behavioral Health to enhance our expanding team.

Our Developmental Pediatrics initiative offers expert consultation and professional services as part of the Mount Sinai Health System's pediatric care in northern New Jersey. This role will involve collaboration with two seasoned professionals to deliver clinical insights in assessing and managing childhood developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges. Additionally, the pediatrician will engage with community organizations, including educational institutions, childcare facilities, and parent associations, to bolster our outreach and support services for children with special needs.

Clinical responsibilities encompass conducting comprehensive neurodevelopmental and behavioral assessments, gathering relevant medical histories for pediatric patients, and assisting the Medical Director of Developmental Pediatrics and the Clinical Director of the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD) in New Jersey. The selected candidate will also take part in departmental activities and committee meetings as required.

This position is part of a larger multidisciplinary group that includes specialists in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Pulmonary Medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, all in partnership with Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System. The KCCD provides a wide range of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapy, along with an on-site audiology service. Academic affiliations with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital may be available based on prior academic achievements and contributions.

Essential Qualifications

MD/DO or equivalent medical degree Board eligible or certified in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Valid New Jersey Medical License, DEA, and CDS required Maintenance of CME credit hours as mandated for Board Certification and/or hospital privileges.
