CommuniKids NY SLP & OT PLLC is in search of a dedicated and innovative Pediatric Therapy Specialist to enhance our dynamic team of speech and occupational therapists.
Our Occupational Therapy department consists of a collaborative group, including two skilled therapists and a Director of Occupational Therapy who offers guidance and support.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in working with children from toddlers to young adults, addressing a diverse array of pediatric challenges.
The caseload encompasses various pediatric concerns, such as sensory processing issues, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), and behavioral challenges, alongside fine, gross, and visual motor skills.
Experience in assessing motor and sensory integration challenges is advantageous.
Our facility is equipped with a shared sensory gym and three dedicated speech therapy rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized therapy sessions for clients.
- Maintain accurate electronic session documentation on a daily basis.
- Prepare semi-annual formal progress reports.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team, which may include other therapists, medical professionals, educators, and importantly, parents.
- Educate parents on how to reinforce therapeutic techniques at home.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a background in pediatric therapy.
A minimum of two years of post-graduate professional experience is preferred, with compensation commensurate with experience.
Experience in Sensory Integration is a plus; however, training will be provided in this area.
