Welcome to CAIR California, the largest American Muslim civil rights organization. We are seeking an experienced Policy Advocacy Manager to join our team and play a key role in shaping our legislative agenda and advocating for the rights of the American Muslim community.

As a Policy Advocacy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing CAIR-CA's legislative agenda, planning, monitoring, evaluating, and implementing legislative initiatives and programs related to the agenda. You will track legislation utilizing CAIR-CA's tracking system and monitor committee meetings and legislative action. You will also participate in workshops and hearings concerning relevant policy matters and provide assessments of positions of parties to management as part of recommendations.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in public policy and government affairs. You will have a Bachelor's degree in political science, public relations, or related field or equivalent work experience required. A postgraduate degree in a relevant field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have minimum three years of full-time experience in public policy and government affairs, managing teams, staff, and/or volunteers, developing policy, advocating before elected representatives, state or federal departments and agencies, and building and working with coalitions.

Estimated salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year commensurate with skills and experience. Benefits include 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance for employees & dependents, 3% employer-matched retirement plan, 12 vacation days, 10 sick days, and 12 holidays, hybrid work schedule utilized temporarily with three days in office and two days of remote work.
