Job Title: Senior Field Environmental Scientist

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. Our services include natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage, and import/export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage, and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage, and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems.

Job Summary

The Senior Field Environmental Scientist will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits in the areas of Air, Water, Waste, and Emergency Response. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and implementation of environmental permits (air and water) and environmental regulations (NSPS, MACT, State), programs, procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Preparation of environmental reports and compliance documentation related to New Source Review (NSR), Title V, NPDES permits, and Discharge Monitoring Reports, etc.
  • Maintenance of site response and spill prevention plans. Conducting training exercises involving personnel and outside agencies. Participation in emergency response and determining reportable quantity release emission estimates within allotted timeframe.
  • Analysis of site environmental data and trends. Recommending ways to improve and gain efficiencies with the data.
  • Development and maintenance of relationships between Environmental, external agencies, and internal departments such as EHS&T, Operations, Commercial, Legal, and others.
  • Setting and achieving environmental compliance goals that support and meet the expectations of Field Environmental Manager and Director, Environmental.
  • Participation in area Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee and industry associations as appropriate.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. A science degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or related areas is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in a compliance or regulatory capacity in the energy or related industries is preferred.
  • Proven environmental compliance skills in the energy industry is required.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence various individuals and groups across organizational lines is required.
  • Proven organizational skills and abilities is required.
  • Proven ability to evaluate issues, define requirements, and implement action plans to accomplish organizational goals is required.
  • Working knowledge of midstream energy industry facilities such as pipelines (gas, liquids, natural gas liquids), pump and compressor stations, gas and liquid measurement facilities, above and below ground storage, liquid terminals, gas processing facilities, or naturals gas liquids fractionation is preferred.
  • Ability to walk long-periods of time to access field assets and right-of-way (ROW).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically is required.
