Job Summary

Ferrara is seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Operations Supervisor to oversee the organization of custodial activities throughout our plant and warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of sanitation practices, supervisory techniques, and personnel policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate custodial activities to ensure high sanitation, GMP, and safety standards are met.
  • Train janitorial staff in job skills, proper cleaning methods, and use of equipment, safety practices, and work regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and investigate complaints to ensure cleanliness and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, and communicate with the Sanitation Supervisor for replenishment.
  • Report all observed safety hazards and maintain accurate, thorough records.
  • Evaluate and verify staff performance through review of complete work assignments and work techniques.
  • Participate in departmental activities, such as meetings, project groups, and administrative obligations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of food-industry experience preferred.
  • Good creative, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and operate a forklift and sky jack.
  • Computer proficiency in electronic communication (Microsoft Office preferred).
  • Physically able to lift at least 25 lbs and proficient in time management.
  • Able to work in a team environment and ensure compliance with AIB, SQF, and other relevant standards.
