The Glass Systems Development Specialist is responsible for developing methods, tools, and automated assembly processes in fabricated glass systems, focusing on priming and post-attachment of bonded components and soldering applications. This role will support Carlex facilities throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new material applications and processes.
  • Design methods to ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with Carlex manufacturing facilities to support new technology and process improvements.
  • Implement and report on testing results and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Work with suppliers, tooling manufacturers, and process equipment manufacturers to improve priming, bonding, soldering, and automotive glass assembly processes.
  • Support new equipment and process layouts for new program launches.
  • Conduct training with plant personnel on priming, bonding, soldering, and assembly principles and practical applications.
  • Establish testing requirements, standards, and protocols to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Identify and implement Poka-yokes for error proofing.
  • Study and rearrange material flow and operations sequence.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Define new testing methods or protocols for new products.
  • Interpret customer specifications.
  • Benchmark improved products and processes.
