Position Overview - Chief of Nutrition Operations

The Chief of Nutrition Operations is responsible for managing the Nutrition Services across various Corewell Health facilities. This role entails ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, developing policies and procedures, engaging in strategic planning, and overseeing program and capital development. Additionally, fiscal management, resource distribution, care standards, and performance enhancement are key components of this position, which requires collaboration with essential stakeholders throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities - Chief of Nutrition Operations

  • Leads the strategic direction and formulates goals to enhance operational excellence in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with service quality metrics and local, state, and federal regulations governing Nutrition Services.
  • Collaborates on establishing critical success indicators, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring departmental performance standards are achieved.
  • Develops comprehensive business plans for the department.
  • Participates in various hospital committees, serving as the primary liaison for Nutrition Services across managed locations.
  • Oversees the preparation and management of the annual budget, analyzing financial performance across sites.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring leadership and staff, assigning roles, assessing performance, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry operations and management practices, embodying the values of Corewell Health.

Qualifications - Chief of Nutrition Operations

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Healthcare Management, Business, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with progressively responsible leadership roles in a comparable organization is essential.
  • Experience in union environments is preferred.

Physical Requirements - Chief of Nutrition Operations

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 10 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing, and walking.
  • Minimal bending and reaching required.
  • Frequent hand dexterity and visual acuity are necessary.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a standard day shift, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.
