POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Procurement is tasked with overseeing the organization's sourcing initiatives, from the initial selection and evaluation of suppliers to ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will enhance our sourcing processes by scrutinizing company expenditures and supplier collaborations while continuously seeking innovative opportunities.

This role involves managing supplier relationships and cultivating a sourcing team equipped with effective processes and advanced tools to meet business demands. Given that the U.S. serves as the primary market for the organization, this position will also spearhead global efforts for shared supplier partnerships, performance measurement, and communication. This leader will engage closely with key stakeholders in various international locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Formulating and articulating a comprehensive 3-year sourcing strategy, including targeted suppliers, countries of origin, and pricing objectives.


• Analyzing all elements affecting total landed costs.


• Monitoring global commodity pricing trends, assessing potential business impacts, and proposing alternative solutions.


• Leading by example in both thought and action, fostering a partnership mindset with internal colleagues and clients.


• Nurturing supplier relationships while actively seeking new vendors through various channels such as networks, expos, and webinars.


• Continuously assessing opportunities to enhance product quality, delivery efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.


• Collaborating with the legal department to ensure favorable contract terms and conditions.


• Managing communications and negotiations with suppliers.


• Evaluating supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards; identifying and qualifying new suppliers in conjunction with other departments.


• Leading quarterly supplier performance review meetings with key suppliers.


• Demonstrating expertise in risk management, strategic planning, and change management.


• Navigating conflicting interests and resolving complex organizational challenges.


• Conducting cost analyses and establishing benchmarks for improvement.


• Negotiating pricing for raw materials and logistics with suppliers.


• Performing financial analyses to create comprehensive cost-benefit presentations.


• Supervising a sourcing team and delegating tasks as necessary.


• Training and mentoring team members, reinforcing company policies and guidelines.


• Actively participating in product development teams, providing insights on supply availability and costs, and supporting timely product launches.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, finance, or engineering preferred.


• Over 10 years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing context.


• Proven track record in metrics management with examples of successful data-driven transformations.


• Experience in developing and managing inventory reduction strategies and optimizing inventory levels.


• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.


• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.


• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.


• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


• CPSM or C.P.M. certification is advantageous.
