**Job Summary**

As a key member of the City of Arlington's Water Utilities Department, the Warehouse Inventory Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse. This position is responsible for requisitioning, locating, purchasing, receiving, inspecting, and preparing storage space for supplies and tools.

**Essential Job Functions:**

  • Requisition and procure materials, supplies, and tools as needed to maintain inventory levels.
  • Locate and retrieve stored items, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
  • Inspect received materials and supplies to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare storage space and maintain inventory control systems to optimize storage capacity.
  • Issue materials, supplies, and tools to authorized personnel, maintaining accurate records of stock levels and usage.
  • Operate a computerized inventory system to manage procurement and warehousing activities.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

  • Operate a forklift and perform other related duties as needed or directed.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure adequate availability of stock and maintain inventory control systems.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma plus one year of related experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control computer systems and software.
  • Knowledge of storeroom and stock control methods and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other City employees.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
