Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing them for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, arterial puncture, and capillary sampling techniques.
  • Process blood samples for laboratory testing, including centrifugation, labeling, and storage.
  • Document collection and processing of blood samples in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support the general operations of the laboratory, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Enter orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of related phlebotomy experience with children.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual.
  • Phlebotomy Certification.
Working Conditions:

The Phlebotomy Specialist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and may be exposed to hazardous materials, hot and cold temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:

The Phlebotomy Specialist must be able to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.
