Job Summary:
Fidelity Partners is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at the Federal Transfer Center-Oklahoma, Bureau of Prisons. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for providing phlebotomy services to the prison population, including collecting blood and urine samples, preparing and tracking laboratory samples, and maintaining laboratory logs and records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and urine samples from patients in a clinical setting
- Prepare and track laboratory samples for testing and analysis
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory logs and records
- Ensure compliance with Clinical Laboratory Inspection Amendment (CLIA) guidelines
- Assist with patient flow in a clinic setting, including measuring vital signs and scanning laboratory results
- Organize and schedule laboratory studies, specimen collection, and processing
- Prepare and transport specimens according to contract or Bureau of Prison Reference Laboratory guidelines
- Ensure laboratory requests are completed properly and reports are returned from the contract laboratory
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of Program Statement for Laboratory Services and Unit Procedures
- Assist with writing and implementing policies related to the laboratory program
Requirements:
- Valid Laboratory Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Phlebotomist certification to practice in Oklahoma
- Experience with specimen collection, packaging, and shipment to referral laboratories
- CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
