The role of a Carrier Sales Representative is to facilitate the achievement of business goals through strategic sales activities, including:
- Freight Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of freight shipments from pickup to delivery, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
- Rate Negotiation: Provide and negotiate freight rates with motor carriers and internal sales teams to ensure maximum profitability.
- Carrier Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with motor carriers, leveraging knowledge of the industry to influence decision-making processes.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with the Customer Sales team to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor and manage performance expectations through carrier account metrics, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service and support to motor carriers, resolving issues and scheduling tracks in a timely manner.
- Freight Charge Verification: Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of the Bill of Lading, and resolve payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carriers.
- Commodity Return: Monitor Bill of Lading discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity, as necessary.
