Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your role will involve:

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of hospital policies and regulatory standards while dispensing medications appropriately.
  • Reviewing medication therapies to ensure their suitability for patient diagnoses.
  • Evaluating medication orders and compounding medications accurately and safely.
  • Identifying potential drug interactions and consulting as necessary.
  • Providing education on medication therapy and procedures to healthcare professionals, students, and patients.
  • Supervising and training pharmacy technicians.
  • Staying informed about automated dispensing processes and technologies used within the facility.

Required qualifications include:

  • A valid Registered Pharmacist Certificate and current renewal from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm. D degree from an accredited institution.
  • Texas IV certification.
  • BLS certification.
