Mobile Examination Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Mobile Examination Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that mobile examinations are conducted with precision and timeliness. Reporting to the Branch Manager or Field Leader, your primary duty will be to maintain a secure and professional atmosphere for applicants, clients, and colleagues while executing all facets of insurance examinations, including specimen collection and processing in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Specimen Collection:
    Ensure accurate and timely collection of specimens by:
    1. Following established procedures for specimen collection.
    2. Conducting both in-center and mobile examinations, which encompass taking basic vitals, gathering medical histories, performing venipuncture, urine collection, and EKGs.
    3. Completing application packets and related documentation with precision.
    4. Labeling, centrifuging, and splitting specimens as dictated by test orders.
    5. Uploading and finalizing cases in the portal within specified timeframes.
    6. Packaging specimens for transport and shipping to designated laboratories.
  2. Transport Responsibilities:
    Safely and promptly transport specimens, supplies, and equipment by:
    1. Maintaining accurate records of daily specimen collections.
    2. Submitting original paperwork to the appropriate destinations.
    3. Providing exemplary customer service to clients.
  3. Compliance and Documentation:
    Adhere to the current Examiners Manual by:
    1. Understanding and complying with departmental policies and procedures.
    2. Maintaining accurate phlebotomy logs.
    3. Keeping an error rate below 3%.
    4. Confirming appointments with clients the day prior and updating case statuses.
    5. Correcting non-applicant errors within a 24-hour period.
    6. Submitting accurate time and travel logs as directed.
    7. Ensuring timely submission of expense forms, if applicable.
    8. Clocking in and out accurately for work assignments.
  4. Professional Conduct:
    Demonstrate commitment to organizational standards by:
    1. Adhering to grooming and dress code policies.
    2. Wearing company-issued identification at all times.
    3. Reporting to work punctually and following attendance guidelines.
    4. Answering calls in a friendly and professional manner.
    5. Communicating effectively with clients, agents, and colleagues.
    6. Addressing unresolved issues promptly with management.
  5. Additional Duties:
    Contribute to the overall success of the team by:
    1. Maintaining cleanliness and order in work areas.
    2. Assisting with inventory management and supply stocking.
    3. Participating in team projects and special assignments.
    4. Providing mentorship to new employees as needed.
    5. Assisting with the distribution of technical information.
    6. Being flexible with travel and work hours, maintaining an updated availability schedule.
  6. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:

  • At least 100 documented successful blood draws.
  • A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience, with pediatric and geriatric experience being advantageous.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in urine or hair follicle collection and EKGs.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Driving to various work assignments.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certifications:
Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is required.
