Position Information

The Physician Coder I will be responsible for coding inpatient and outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) services, as well as bedside and/or clinic procedures and ancillary procedures/testing for all specialties within WakeMed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to ensure timely identification and resolution of coding-related issues. The successful candidate will complete tasks in accordance with designated assignments and be subject to productivity and quality reviews.

Experience Requirements

2 years of coding experience, with a preference for physician coding. A strong background in coding principles and regulations is required.

Education and Licensure

A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Additionally, a Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Professional Coder certification is necessary for this role.

Work Schedule

This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with no weekend requirements. There is no call requirement for this role.
