Job Title: Public Information Specialist

Join the State of Florida as a Public Information Specialist and play a vital role in shaping the public's perception of our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with various stakeholders, including the media, community groups, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and disseminate information materials, such as press releases, fact sheets, and brochures, to promote our organization's initiatives and programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media representatives, community leaders, and other government agencies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on communication strategies and tactics to support the achievement of our organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective communication plans, including social media, public outreach, and media relations.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to ensure that our organization's message is being effectively communicated and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in public information, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise messages to various audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
