Position Details:

We are seeking a skilled and committed Fiber Optic Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence in delivering telecommunication infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of optical terminal enclosures (OTE), optical line terminals (OLT), Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM). Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting across a variety of fiber optic networks to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Install, repair, and maintain OTE and OLT equipment, adhering to industry standards and project specifications.
  • Employ DWDM and CWDM technologies to enhance network capacity and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of fiber optic systems to promptly identify and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to efficiently plan and execute fiber optic initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and procedures at all times.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports related to project progress and equipment status.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fiber splicing, preferably in the construction sector.
  • Proficient knowledge of OTE, OLT, DWDM, and CWDM technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic network design and installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in various locations and adapt to different environments.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Proven track record of adhering to safety standards and procedures.
  • Relevant certification or training in fiber optic technology is advantageous.
