Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular team meetings as necessary.
  • Conduct daily inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality. Report any issues to the Kitchen Manager and perform minor repairs as required.
  • Assist in preparing the emergency food service canteen for community needs.
  • Collaborate with various departments to collect food donations from local food banks and donors.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support kitchen staff in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Work alongside Corps Officers to develop and implement maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment, ensuring no major repairs occur without their consent.
  • Immediately report any safety or security concerns to the Kitchen Manager and Corps Officers.
  • Oversee kitchen personnel and their assigned tasks to ensure efficient operations.
  • Comply with Shelter PPE guidelines and COVID-19 protocols for kitchen staff and volunteers.
