Job Summary:

As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist at New Season Treatment Centers, you will provide individual, group, and family counseling to patients as required. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to identify and meet the clinical needs of patients and assist in their overall well-being.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide direct peer-to-peer support services to individuals with substance abuse or co-occurring disorders.
  • Advocate for patients and provide essential expertise to the treatment team to promote a culture of recognition, understanding, respect, and integration of treatment needs and preferences.
  • Draw from your own journey of recovery to inspire hope and provide support to others.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients in developing problem-solving skills to respond to challenging experiences in their recovery.
  • Model effective coping and self-help strategies and techniques to individuals or groups of patients.
  • Assist/support patients in daily decision making, resolution of minor problems, and crisis intervention as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Self-identify as a present or former primary consumer in substance abuse recovery or of mental health services.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working with adult MH/SA disorders.
  • Pass a background check or request an exception to the findings.
  • Complete a state-approved training program and pass a standardized examination.
