Job Overview

Exceptional Healthcare Inc. is seeking a skilled ER Tech/Paramedic to support our Emergency Department team on a seasonal, PRN basis. This role requires a high level of patient care, environmental tasks, and supply management expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with RNs and physicians to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Document vital signs, perform phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
  • Transport patients and place them on monitors
  • Perform wound care and obtain lab specimens
  • Conduct urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests
  • Assist with physical exams and procedures
  • Apply orthopedic splints and fit patients for crutches
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas and equipment
  • Ensure adequate supply of lab and stock room items
  • Perform POC and QC lab testing
  • Maintain temperature logs and change Sharp's containers
  • Recognize and report equipment malfunctions
  • Stock necessary equipment and supplies
  • Perform quality control procedures and calibrations
  • Ensure proficiency testing compliance
  • Monitor send-out lab procedures
  • Stay updated on new testing methods and technologies
  • Interact professionally with all department members and patients
Requirements
  • Must be a certified paramedic
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a flight medic or EMT-P (or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical professionals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current EMT (or equivalent) certification preferred
