Job Overview

BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead FPGA Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive the development of advanced FPGA-based solutions for RF systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning activities, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
  • Design and develop FPGA-based solutions for RF systems, including high-speed data processing, digital signal processing, and control functions.
  • Optimize FPGA designs for performance, power consumption, and resource utilization.
  • Develop and define the overall system architecture for FPGA-based solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability requirements are met.
  • Implement and optimize DSP algorithms on FPGAs to process RF signals, including filtering, modulation/demodulation, and error correction.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, RF engineers, and software developers to integrate FPGA solutions into system-level designs.
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans to verify and validate FPGA designs.
  • Generate detailed design documentation, including system architecture diagrams, block diagrams, HDL code, simulation results, and test reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in FPGA design and development, with a focus on RF technologies or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in FPGA design using VHDL/Verilog, digital signal processing, and system integration.
  • Proficiency with FPGA development tools, such as Xilinx Vivado and ModelSim.
  • Experience with high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and timing analysis.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, monitor, and deliver complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in system architecture design and documentation.
  • Experience in the defense industry or government contracting environment is highly desirable.
Clearance and Citizenship

We can only accept applicants that are US Citizens. An active (or active within the last 2 years) Secret (or higher) level of DoD security clearance is desired but not required.
