About the Role

Sedron Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the design and development of advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing custom industrial equipment, including 3D CAD, drafting, engineering reviews, work order preparation, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Direct and/or participate in the design of custom industrial equipment, including 3D CAD, drafting, engineering reviews, work order preparation, and procurement.
  • Equipment Development: Act as a key player in the development of industrial equipment, such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, material conveyance systems, pumping systems, motors and gearboxes, structural weldments, and more.
  • Calculations and Analysis: Perform basic hand calculations relevant to the design task, including but not limited to 1D heat transfer, mass and energy balance, stress analysis, pressure drop in a pipe, etc.
  • Team Collaboration: Work directly with the customer and internal technical teams to ensure progress on all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Manufacturing and Assembly: Participate in design, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning support.
  • Materials Management: Be responsible for ensuring materials are organized and ready for manufacturing, including carrying out purchasing activities.
  • Project Management: Prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to fulfill objectives.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike.
  • Safety and Compliance: Comply with all safety, 5S, and HazMat practices.
  • Time Management: Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Team Player: Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasks.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance.
  • Organization: Maintain good organization skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Three or more years' of experience is preferred.
  • CAD Software: Experience with NX or equivalent CAD software.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with steam tables, pump and fan curves, enthalpy changes in fluids, and basic materials and manufacturing is desired.
  • Communication Skills: Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
