Job Description

Volt is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Ottumwa, IA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a Positive Work Environment: Foster open communication, provide constructive feedback, and offer guidance to employees.
  • Ensure Employee Development: Provide training, work instructions, and necessary tools to enable employees to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Monitor and Improve Quality: Troubleshoot workmanship issues, supervise production activities, and ensure manufactured products meet quality standards.
  • Manage Employee Performance: Monitor individual and line performance, take corrective action, and respond to employee complaints.
  • Prioritize and Assign Tasks: Determine manufacturing and distribution priorities, make daily assignments, and fill vacancies as needed.
  • Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Plan for maintenance, maximize equipment uptime, and ensure optimal utilization of capital assets.
  • Manage Departmental Budget: Monitor and correct deviations from departmental operating budget targets.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Direct departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.
  • Ensure Safety and Housekeeping: Implement and monitor safety programs and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements:
  • Manufacturing Experience: Targeting first shift, but flexibility to work third shift is required.
  • Union Environment Experience: Previous experience in a union environment is necessary.
  • Systems Experience: Familiarity with SAP systems is required.
  • Desktop Applications: Proficiency in MS Word, Office, and Excel is necessary.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills are required.
  • Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is necessary.

This is a Full-Time, Contract opportunity.

Shift: 3rd shift

Duration: 12 months

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Pay Rate: $30 - $36 per hour
