Job Summary

The Innovation and Commercialization Project Director will play a key role in driving the success of InsideHigherEd's innovation and commercialization initiatives. This individual will be responsible for translating needs into technical requirements, communicating with stakeholders, and coordinating teams of business leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, faculty, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project goals and align them with project budget
  • Track project performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Supervise project personnel and/or technical personnel
  • Develop and implement training programs to foster growth of a globally competitive research workforce
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders and industry partners
  • Maintain reporting requirements for federally funded projects

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field, business, research, or related field and five (5) years of experience; OR PhD in a STEM field, business, research, or related field and three (3) years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to develop productive collaborative partnerships between industry and higher education
  • Organizational and time management skills sufficient to prioritize multiple tasks, keep materials in order, track various projects, and maintain accurate records

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certificate
  • Experience with NSF I-CORPs training program
  • Experience working at an institution of higher education
  • Working knowledge of UA policies and procedures as they apply to funded educational and research programs
