Job Title: Armed Security Guard/ NAVSEA

Overview:

Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is seeking a qualified Armed Guard for the Washington Navy Yard Installation. This role involves a mix of static and roving posts with varied shifts and hours, operating 24/7 within multiple facilities on the Washington Navy Yard complex.

Responsibilities:
  • Access control and exit management
  • Response to emergency situations
  • Conducting checks of facilities as described in post orders
Requirements:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination
  • Annual physical fitness test
  • Psychological pre-employment testing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to orally communicate clearly over a radio and telephone
  • Ability to read and understand printed and computer screen documents
  • Ability to compose records and reports
  • No felony convictions or convictions that reflect on the individual's reliability
  • 21 years of age or older or honorably discharged veteran
  • Citizen of the United States
  • Valid automobile driver's license
  • No record or history of illegal drug use
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Guard/Clearance card
  • Gun/OC/Baton permit
  • CPR/First Aid/AED
Physical Requirements:

Each guard service employee shall be in good physical condition, able to protect themselves and others, and withstand sudden emotional stress and physical exertion in the apprehension of suspects and violators.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation safety-sensitive functions.
Work Environment:

Interior posts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
  • Must be able to obtain or possess any applicable security guard or weapons permit necessary
  • Must be able to pass a background check covering the last 10 years and pass a drug screening due to the nature of the position
  • Must be able to pass a physical agility test if applicable; complete required training and pass examination
