Job Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Guard to join our team. As a Security Guard Specialist, you will be responsible for providing top-notch security services to our clients, ensuring the safety and security of their personnel, property, and assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Operations: Observe and report activities and incidents at assigned locations, providing for the security and safety of client property, visitors, and personnel.
  • Access Control: Control access to client site and facility through the admittance process, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions such as hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and incidents, protecting evidence and scenes as needed.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare logs and reports as requested, providing detailed information on security incidents and activities.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or completion of 60 credit hours in a related field from a learning institution recognized by the Department of Education.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of security or law enforcement experience, or two years of honorable service with the US Armed Forces.
  • Certifications: Possess or be able to obtain all applicable Protective Security Officer (PSO) and weapons permits, including First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential functions of the position, including long periods of walking, standing, sitting, and stooping, up to 12 hours per shift, either indoors or outdoors, during daytime or nighttime without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Guard/Clearance Card: Possess a valid Guard/Clearance Card.
  • Gun/OC/Baton Permit: Possess a valid Gun/OC/Baton Permit.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED: Possess current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Work Environment:

The Security Guard Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The position may involve working in extreme weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, and severe weather.
