Job Title: Plant Controller

PlayCore is seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing all financial activities of our plant, including general and cost accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead month-end financial result processes for a manufacturing operation, including financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct cost accounting analysis, including labor variances, absorption analysis, PPV, and material variances.
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory transactions and balances.
  • Calculate yearly standard costs, including fully burdened labor and overhead rates.
  • Manage bi-yearly audit management, including providing requested schedules.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Manage and produce budgeting and forecasting models, including supporting schedules.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 6 years' experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
  • System implementation experience a plus.
  • MBA, CMA, or CPA with manufacturing experience preferred.
Travel:
  • Travel is limited if local to Red Bud, but occasional travel to other sites and corporate office may be needed. If located in Chattanooga, TN, monthly travel is expected.
Computer Skills:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as other computer/web-based programs.
Other Requirements:
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
