About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Senior Controls Systems Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing building controls facilities management systems and energy management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and the ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Consult with customers through data gathered and site assessments, providing field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction, reporting problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings, assisting with job layouts and bid proposals.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and meeting regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems.
  • Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, providing safety leadership and instruction to all controls technicians in the branch.
  • Train customers in control systems operations, delivering manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
  • Provide mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems, coach, supports, and trains the mechanical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
  • Compile job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates, and punch lists.
  • Conduct extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product lines, completing certifications as required by the company.
Requirements
  • Vocational School four-year program graduate, an Associate's degree in a technical field, or two years' experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of Six (6) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including buildings, chiller plants, and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
