About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food Runner to join our team at The Study at Johns Hopkins. As a Food Runner, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by running food from the kitchen to the table in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support the restaurant servers by assisting with food preparation, plating, and presentation.
  • Ensure that all side work is completed throughout the shift, including polishing, silver and glassware, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Monitor and observe guest dining experiences to ensure satisfaction and respond promptly to any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of all menu items and beverage programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the restaurant team to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.
  • Complete setup and breakdown of the restaurant, including detailed cleaning of the work area and surrounding areas.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a fine dining or upscale casual environment.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move goods weighing up to 40 pounds.
