CNC Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team at Voss Industries, LLC. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled machines to manufacture high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret work instructions, prints, and job orders to ensure accurate production.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize new production programs to improve overall efficiency.
  • Set machine controls to specific work orders and regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, and coolant flow.
  • Document new program changes and processes to ensure consistent production.
  • Verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Deburr parts to meet blueprint specifications.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Setup machines on a flexible basis to ensure optimum output throughout the shop.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years' experience as a CNC mill/lathe operator preferred.
  • Experience verifying dimensions of parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Flexibility in work assignments.
  • Ability to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Ability to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily.
  • Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to work daily and weekly overtime as required.
