CNC Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team at Voss Industries. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC milling and turning machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret work instructions, prints, and job orders for product specifications
  • Operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce parts
  • Troubleshoot and optimize new production programs to ensure efficient overall production
  • Calculate and set machine controls to specific work orders and regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
  • Document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized
  • Verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience as a CNC mill/lathe operator preferred
  • Experience verifying dimensions of parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Flexibility in work assignments
  • Ability to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking
  • Ability to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily
  • Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to work daily and weekly overtime as required
